Folks Pack High Hill for Annual Church Picnic

A big crowd showed up to the High Hill Picnic Sunday at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in High Hill. The parish sold 3,160 dinner plates before they ran out of fried chicken. Picnic Chair Joyce Dittrich said the parish had not yet calculated proceeds from the auction. “I think we did really well in the auction,” Dittrich said. “The whole picnic was great. Our fireworks show was great. We were blessed with a very good day. There were a lot of people and everyone had a good time.”

St. James’ Steinway Concert – a Review

When I attend concerts, I watch faces a lot. Because a reviewer’s job is not only to speak of the quality of the performance. It’s also to describe the effect the performance had on the audience. Sunday’s inaugural Steinway Concert at the St. James’ Episcopal Church was a case in point.
