The La Grange Knights of Columbus will hold it’s 13th annual Msgr. Harry/KC Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser of a fried pork chop meal including black-eyed peas, buttered potatoes and cabbage for $15 per plate on Thursday, June 4 from 4-6 p.m. at the KC Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. No tickets or call-ins; first come, first served.

Round Top Festival Institute is celebrating its 55th Season and has set aside Saturday, June 6, as “Fayette County Day at Festival Hill.” Fayette County residents are invited to enjoy a concert on this day at a reduced rate. The dedicated performance will be the Opening Chamber Music Concert of the 2026 Round Top Music Festival, performed in the Festival Concert Hall located on Highway 237 and Jaster Road just north of Round Top.

A man died in a tractor accident in La Grange on Saturday, May 30. La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath said Officer Brett Meinardus received a call around 4:03 p.m.

Fayette County Schools to Reap Benefits of New Turbine Development Far Away Last Thursday the Fayette County Commissioners Court approved a lease agreement with the renewable energy company Engie for wind turbines on the County’s school land in Baylor County. The deal will bring hundreds of thousands of dollars to public schools in Fayette County over the next eight to ten years and possibly much more in the decades to follow.
