The Fayetteville volleyball team went undefeated to win the championship at the Hearne Tournament over the weekend.

The Lady Lions swept past North Zulch, Hearne, Buffalo and then beat Snook in the title game 25-14, 25-16.

In the title match Lainey Gromaski had a team high five kills for the Lady Lions and Scott Beseda had three.

Beseda led in kills with eight and Gromaski had five.

Emily Keilers had 15 digs and Beseda led in assists with 10.

The Lady Lions are now 9-2 overall.

La Grange

The La Grange varsity volleyball team went 3-6 at the Bastrop ISD Tournament last week, finishing 2nd in the Copper Bracket.

The Lady Leps’overall record is now 6-13.

The Lady Leopards will travel to East Bernard on Tuesday for matches at 4:30/5:30/6:30 p.m.

Flatonia

The Flatonia volleyball team won the Silver bracket title at the Schulenburg Tournament last week.

The Lady Bulldogs, went 2-1 Thursday, beating Yoakum and Rice but falling to Goliad.

Friday Flatonia lost to Schulenburg, Columbus and Burton.

But the Lady Bulldogs got their revenge on Burton Saturday, beating them in the title match of that Silver Bracket.

Flatonia’s Summer Sodek was named to the all-tournament team.

Schulenburg

The Schulenburg volleyball team finished fourth in the Gold Bracket of their home tournament last week.

In pool play on the first day of the tournament Thursday the Lady Horns beat Cross Roads, Gonzales and Edna.

Friday the Schulenburg girls beat Flatonia and Burton but lost to Columbus.

Saturday the Lady Horns lost to eventual tourney champ Goliad in the semis and then lost to Columbus in the Gold Bracket third place match.

In that tourney finale Emmrie Marx had 16 kills, Landry Zapalac had 30 assists, Haylee Vacek had 18 digs and Michaela Kollmann had 16 digs.

Landry Zapalac was named to the all-tournament team.

The Lady Horns are now 12-6 overall this season.
