Amazingly with all the rain earlier this week the La Grange baseball team was still able to get its district game against Smithville in, thanks to a move to the all-turf field in Bastrop … and the Leps performance was worth the work to get the game played.

Pitchers Tristin Ulrich and Colt Jobb combined to no-hit the Tigers in a 1-0 La Grange victory.

Ulrich pitched six innings, striking out 12. Jobb pitched a perfect seventh to get the save.

Howard “Skip” Holmes scored the game’s only run, and he had two of the Leps’ three hits against Smithville pitcher Reagan Pruett, who pitched a complete game.

The Leps (12-10 overall and 4-5 in district) can now clinch a playoff spot with a win Friday against last place Smithville or a Caldwell loss against first place Bellville.
