Targac Fans 19, But Bulldogs Fall in a 10-Inning Thriller

Saturday, the Flatonia baseball team lost a tough one in extra innings 1-0 to the Shiner Comanches. Shiner scratched across the winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning to pick up the win.
Both teams are now 5-1 in district. Titan Targac was strong on the mound vs. the Comanches. He only gave up one hit and one walk over 7 and 2/3 innings. He finished with nineteen strikeouts. Kullen Kutac pitched well in relief of Targac vs. Shiner. The Dogs were limited to three hits and no runs by Shiner. Targac hit a triple, while Nathan Aguillon and Yandel Manzano each had a single.
Because of wet field conditions Saturday, the La Grange baseball and softball district games against Giddings were rescheduled for Monday March 31.
The softball game will begin at 6 p.m. in La Grange. The baseball game will begin at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange.
Saturday’s Flatonia softball game against Shiner was cancelled due to unplayable field conditions. The game will be moved to Monday at 7 p.m. in Shiner.
Cubs Baseball
The Round Top-Carmine baseball team lost a pair of games to Mumford Thursday, falling 22-0 and 12-2. In the 12-2 loss, RTC’s William Need, Facundo Cerda and Cody Wunderlich each had two hits as the Cubs fell to 3-8 this season.
