St. Rose Catholic Schools Week Proclaimed
WHEREAS, America’s Catholic schools are internationally acclaimed for their faith formation and academic excellence, providing students more than a scholastic education; WHEREAS, Catholic schools ensure a broad, valued-added education emphasizing the lifelong development of moral, intellectual, physical, and social values in America’s young people. Developing servant leaders, faith-filled disciples, and enriched citizens in our communities.
WHEREAS, the graduation rate of Catholic school students is 98.9 percent, with 85.2 percent of Catholic high school graduates going on to college; WHEREAS, St. Rose of Lima Catholic School celebrates their 135th year and continues along with 5,905 other Catholic schools to produce students strongly dedicated to their faith, values, families, and communities by providing an intellectually stimulating environment rich in spiritual and moral development.
WHEREAS, the National Catholic Education Association and the U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops have designated January 26 through January 31, 2025 Catholic Schools Week in the United States of America, with their theme being “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.”
NOW THEREFORE, I, Connie Koopmann, Mayor of the City of Schulenburg, in recognition of the outstanding work done here at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School do hereby proclaim the week of January 26, 2025 as “Catholic Schools Week” in Schulenburg, Texas.
