The La Grange softball team had won 10 of its last 11 ballgames, but Smithville cooled off the Lady Leps a little Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers beat La Grange 4-3 to get revenge after the Lady Leps beat Smithville 3-2 just a week ago.

Both teams are now 1-1 in district play. Tuesday’s game started off well for the Lady Leps as they took a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Iylah King and Kylin Brawley scored on RBIs from Melissa Gonzales and Madi Adams.

But Smithville fought back, taking advantage of some La Grange miscues, to take a 3-2 lead in the third inning.

King scored her second run of the game to tie things up in the bottom of the third.

The game stayed scoreless until the seventh when Smithville pushed across the winning run when Addison Otto scored on a Brittney Collins sacrifice fly.

La Grange freshman Brooke Ulrich pitched a complete game five-hitter with five strikeouts and no earned runs allowed.

The Lady Leps (10-7) return to action Friday at Bellville.
