Shorthorns Eliminated by Kenedy

The Schulenburg baseball team had its season come to an end in the second round of the 2A playoffs with a loss in their series to Kenedy.

Schulenburg lost Game 1 11-7, won Game 2 12-2 but fell in the decisive third game 16-3.

Brycen Schramek and Connor Fogle had two hits in the Game 1 loss.

In the Game 2 victory, Schramek pitched 5.2 innings of two-run ball and also drove in two runs. Fogle hit a homer and drove in four runs.

In Game 3, Bryce Stoever hit a double and a triple and Schramek had two hits, but the Shorthorns couldn’t keep pace with Kenedy, which cranked out 14 hits against six different Schulenburg pitchers.

The Shorthorns end their season with a 18-13 record.

Kenedy now advances to face Flatonia.
