Rodriguez Qualifies for State Cross Country Meet

Schulenburg’s Ruby Rodriguez has qualified for the state cross country meet in Class 2A and will run Friday at 8:15 a.m. at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

“Ruby qualified for the state championship meet after placing in the top ten individually at the region meet in Corpus Christi last Friday despite getting knocked down during the race and stepped on numerous times while getting up,” said Schulenburg girls cross country coach Larry Tidwell. “Ruby represents the Schulenburg ISD athletic program in a first class manner both on and off the cross country course. I have nominated Ruby for all-state honors as a runner and all-state academically. Please wish her the best.”
