The Schulenburg Lady Horns basketball went 5-1 at their Sweet 16 Holiday Classic Tournament last week. The Lady Horns’ only loss came in a 53-28 setback to Industrial.

Otherwise the Lady Horns beat Rice 36-7, Brazos 46-26, Luling 49-22, Rice again 4214 and Bellville 31-21.

The Lady Horns are 9-4 overall and host Flatonia in their district opener Tuesday.

Fayetteville girls

The Fayetteville girls went 1-3 at their home tournament last week. The Lady Lions beat Somerville 54-22 but lost to Cornerstone Christian 32-23, lost to Flatonia 72-10 and lost to Brazos Christian 41-18.

The Lady Lions are now 1-10 overall.

In that victory over Somerville the Lady Lions were led in scoring by Scotti Beseda, who had 17 points. Devynn Moeckel scored 10, Maycee Miller scored nine.

Reagan Moreau, Saige Gasaway, and Cambree Denham each had four points.

Shae Sladek, Paige Jurecka and Aubree Graeter each scored two.
