Local Volleyball Teams Piling Up the Wins

The Schulenburg volleyball team won the Silver Bracket Championship at the Goliad Tournament over the weekend.
In pool play Thursday the Lady Horns beat Sinton but lost to Goliad and Edna.
Saturday the Schulenburg girls beat Yoakum in the silver bracket semis and then downed Edna 25-23, 27-25 in the silver bracket title game.
In that title game Landry Zapalac had 31 assists. Emmrie Marx led in kills with 17 and Haylee Vacek had 11. Vacek led in digs with 18, Michaela Kollman had 17 digs and Madison Kunschick had 12 digs.
Zapalac was named to the all-tournament team.
The Lady Horns are now 16-8 overall.
Flatonia
The Flatonia girls volleyball team won the Silver Bracket title at the Rice Tournament last week.
In the tourney semis the Lady Bulldogs beat Shiner St. Paul and then in the title match they downed Rice 25-13, 2515.

Fayetteville
The Fayetteville volleyball team went 4-4 at the Rice Consolidated Tournament last week, beating Ganado, Van Vleck and the Giddings, JV twice but lost to Flatonia, Rice, Tidehaven and Palacios. The Lady Lions are now 14-6 overall.
La Grange
The La Grange volleyball team continues to play some very tough competition. Last week they traveled to the China Spring Tournament and lost to Chaparral, China Spring, Crawford and West.
The Lady Leps (6-18) host Jarrell Tuesday at 6 p.m.
