LHS Tennis Wins at Shiner

The La Grange tennis team competed at the Shiner Tournament on March 18 and did very well. The Girls Doubles won 1st place (Eleanor Carey (Sr)/Ella Nygren (Sr). Mixed Doubles won 1st place (Hailey Gonzalez (Sr)/Rogan Mihatsch (So). Boys Singles won 3rd place (Chris Morales (Jr).

“Eleanor and Ella improved from second place in the last tournament to winning it this time. These two are gaining momentum on a run to qualify for Regionals,” said head coach Chris Westall. “Hailey and Rogan are a new team and came out of the gate and got the tournament win – lots of potential for this team. Chris lost a tough semifinal and had to grind out a 3rd place medal against another worthy opponent, some of his best tennis of the season.”
