LHS Grabs Hoops Sweep in Smithville

The La Grange varsity basketball teams went to Smithville Friday and swept the Tigers in the girls and boys games.

The Lady Leps got a pair of late free-throws from senior Tori Harold to finish off a 56-52 victory over the Lady Tigers. Kylie Trlicek led the Lady Leps in scoring with 22 points and Campbell Cooper added 16.

The victory strengthens the La Grange girls’ hold on second place in district. The Lady Leps are now 16-9 overall and 6-1 in district and host first place Taylor Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.

In the nightcap Friday the first place La Grange boys blew out last place Smithville 74-34 as senior Nate Scott scored 26 and Devonte Mc-Kenzie added 16.

The Leps are now 20-8 overall and 6-0 in district. They host Taylor Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
