Leps 14-8 Heading Into District Opener

The La Grange boys basketball team has wrapped up the non-district portion of its schedule with a 14-8 record with a busy stretch of games over the holiday break.

The Leps are coming off a 58-48 road loss to Bandera on Monday.

Prior to that they lost to Belton 59-36 last Friday.

Clayton Cooper led the Leps in scoring with 12 points. Devonte McKenzie and Brandon Mathis each scored eight. Mason Kleiber and Conner Brooks each scored four and Cordale Kanpik scored two.

The Leps also played in the Brownwood tournament Dec. 26-28. They beat Early 71-37 and Brownwood 83-77 to start the tournament but then lost to Gatesville and Gordon.

The Leps host Giddings Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the district opener for both teams.
