Lady Leps Roll On, LG Baseball Falls
The La Grange softball team improved its record to 3-0 in district and 11-10 overall with a 12-2 victory at Taylor Friday.
La Grange’s Marissa Gonzales pitched a complete game two-hitter with five strikeouts. Teagan Branch hit a homer and drove in three runs.
Melissa Gonzales also had two hits and drove in tree runs. Haylie Cooper had two hits and Avery Marshall and Kylin Brawley hit doubles.
The Lady Leps host Caldwell Monday at 7 p.m. in a battle between first place teams.

Giddings Beats Leps 3-1
The La Grange baseball team had a tough start to district play Friday, falling to Giddings 3-1 at home.
The Leps got a strong start on the mound from Brock Loehr, who pitched six innings of five-hit, three-run ball with six strikeouts, but the La Grange offense couldn’t get enough going.
The Leps did get eight hits against Giddings starting pitcher Corbin Medack, but couldn’t push enough runs across the plate. Loehr was the leading hitter for the Leps with two hits and the lone RBI. The Leps play at Smithville Monday.
Flatonia Softball Falls
The Weimar softball team defeated Flatonia Friday 11-1.
K. Mendez and Sadie Noska got the only hits for the Lady Bulldogs.
Smith pitched a complete game two-hitter for Weimar and hit a homer. Reeves also drove in three.
Flatonia Baseball Rolls On
The Flatonia Bulldogs pulled out a nice come from behind 5-3 baseball victory over Weimar last Friday night in Flatonia. The Dogs trailed 3-1 going into the bottom of the fifth inning. Beck Zimmerman reached base on an error and scored on a double steal to make it 2-3. Henri Vincik then hit a one out RBI single to knock in Titan Targac, who had walked to tie the game up at 3-3. Then Diego Ramirez laced a double down the left field line to put runners on 2nd & 3rd with two outs. Tripp Bowling came through with a clutch two strike two out two RBI single to right field to put Flatonia up 5-3.
Cale Janecka earned the victory on the mound with four innings of solid scoreless relief of Targac who had started on the hill. Janecka gave up just one hit and one walk, and he had seven K’s. He also had a RBI single in the 1st inning.
