Lady Leps Improve to 13-4
LG Softball team Beats Cuero, Begins District Play Here Friday
The La Grange softball team survived a late scare from Cuero to grab a 7-5 home win Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Leps were in control most of the game, and led 5-2 going into the sixth inning, but the Gobblers scored three runs over the final two frames to make things interesting.
La Grange’s Abigail Dela Rosa pitched a complete game and she also had three hits, including a triple. She also scored four of the Lady Leps’ seven runs.
Haylie Cooper had a double and other hits by the Lady Leps were from Alyssa Dela Rosa, Natalie Blackwell and Missy Muras.
Tuesday’s victory improves the Lady Leps’ record to 13-4 overall as they get set to host Austin Eastside in the district opener for both teams at 6 p.m. Friday.
