La Grange vs. Navasota

Of Note: The Leps are 3-1 for the first time since 2019 but face a tough Navasota team in La Grange’s first home game in a month. The Rattlers started the season with two losses but have bounced back to win their last two over Royal 49-8 and over 5A Waco High 34-12. Navasota sophomore quarterback Jace Jablonski is throwing for 227 yards per game, and senior Artavion Rutherford is averaging 113 yards rushing per game ... The Leps’ lone loss was to 3A No. 1-ranked Columbus, and La Grange has outscored their last two opponents 87-14 over the last two weeks. La Grange junior running back Da’von Giscome has run for over 100 yards in each of the Leps three victories. Lep senior quarterback Clayton Cooper has thrown for 821 yards and run for 374 this season. Cordale Knapik snagged two interceptions in Friday’s 35-7 win over Taylor ... After this game the Leps are off next week and then open district play Oct. 11 at home against Madisonville.

Last meeting: These two teams haven’t played one another since 2021 when Navasota beat the Leps 33-21. The Rattlers ran for 299 yards in the win. The Leps got touchdown passes from Clay Wolff to Bravion Rogers and Jaxon Cooper and a touchdown run from Ryder Imhoff.
