La Grange Sweeps Giddings in District Hoops Doubleheader

The La Grange basketball teams had a big night in Giddings Tuesday, sweeping their varsity district doubleheader.

The Lady Leps started the night with a huge fourth quarter surge that fueled a 44-41 come-from-behind victory over the Lady Buffs.

Sophomore Kylie Trlicek led the way with 15 points for La Grange and freshman Campbell Cooper added 13.

The victory keeps the Lady Leps (14-9 overall) tied with Smithville for second place in district, each with 4-1 records, though La Grange has already beaten the Lady Tigers once in district play.

In the nightcap, the La Grange boys stayed unbeaten in district play with a 68-41 win over the Buffaloes. Nate Scott scored a team-high 22 for La Grange and Reece Nygren added 12.

The Leps improved to 17-8 overall and 4-0 in district.

Both La Grange varsity teams host Manor New Tech Friday in a doubleheader starting at 6 p.m.
