Lady Leps Pound Giddings

The La Grange softball team blasted Giddings Thursday 12-1 as Teagan Branch smacked a grand slam homer.

Haylie Cooper had two hits and two RBIs and Sarah Kay and Haedyn Cooper both drove in two.

Marissa Gonzales pitched a complete game four-hitter as the Lady Leps improved to 12-11 overall and 4-1 in district.

Leps Sweep SHS

The La Grange baseball team beat Smithville 4-3 in walk-off fashion Thursday to sweep the season series from the Tigers. Brock Loehr pitched six innings of two-hit ball and Ty Stark pitched a perfect seventh to get the win.

Bennett Barber and Hunter Sabo hit doubles and Barber scored two runs. The Leps again capitalized on several Smithville errors. The Leps (9-11 overall, 2-1 in district) were scheduled to host Taylor Monday at 7 p.m.

Flatonia Splits

The Flatonia baseball team beat Shiner 4-2 Thursday behind a 13-strikeout outing from Titan Targac. The Bulldogs are now 12-2 overall and 5-1 in district.

Shiner defeated the Flatonia softball team 13-1 Thursday. Brealey Nieto had two hits for the Lady Bulldogs and Jalee Trussell pitched a complete game.

Fayetteville Falls

The Fayetteville baseball team lost their first game of the season Thursday 4-3 to Burton.

Chance Konvicka had two hits and drove in a run for the Lions.

Jake Kubala and Brody Dooley also drove in runs for Fayetteville.

Konvicka, Dooley and Kole Schmitt combined on the pitching effort for the Lions.

Fayetteville’s record is now 5-1.
