Gilbreath Wins $100 Jackpot

Steven Gilbreath was the winner of $100 in our final football pick-it contest of the season sponsored by Farmers Lumber Company.

Gilbreath was one of five perfect ballots turned in last week. He prevailed on the score prediction tiebreaker, predicting a 58-14 Waco La Vega victory over La Grange. The final score was actually 56-2.

Runner-up was Dan Leer, who predicted a 58-32 final on his perfect ballot. Other perfect ballots were turned in by JoAnn Divin, Bo Janda and Marvin Marburger.

We will try to get a photo of Gilbreath collecting his prize money to run in Friday’s edition. Also this week Farmers will draw for the season-ending grand prize of a zero-turn lawnmower. Everyone who played all season is eligible for that prize and we will announce that in Friday’s newspaper, and plan to do a live video of that drawing on our Facebook page.
