Of Note: The Shorthorns blasted Three Rivers last week 42-28 to advance to this round where they face the Marlin Bulldogs, who are coming off a 51-7 win over Holland. Marlin senior quarterback Roderick Suiters completed nine of 13 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns in that game. Meanwhile, six different Bulldogs running backs combined to rush for 257 yards in that game. Marlin has won six games in a row and has allowed less than a touchdown per game on average during that span. Their three losses have come to Lexington, Honey Grove and West ... Schulenburg’s Aaron Janecek ran for 228 yards and five touchdowns last week and he also threw for 167 yards. Jayse Janda caught seven passes. Schulenburg has won four in a row and is averaging over 39 points a game scored. The Shorthorns only losses this season have come against Rogers, Weimar and Ganado.
