Of Note: It’s homecoming week in Flatonia as the Bulldogs welcome winless Nixon-Smiley. The Bulldogs are trying to bounce back from last week’s tough loss to Sacred Heart in which Flatonia was leading 20-7 before the Indians scored 14 unanswered in the second half. Nixon-Smiley, meanwhile is still looking for its first win of the season after falling 21-12 to Luling in the season opener and 30-16 to Three Rivers last week. Nixon-Smiley is a 3A team that went 2-8 last season. They have a young team led by sophomore quarterback Eric Rodriguez, who has thrown for 98 yards and run for 79 yards so far this season.

Last meeting: Flatonia defeated Nixon-Smiley 21-14 last season as Beck Zimmerman, Kenyon Guyton and Kobe Burton all rushed for touchdowns. Flatonia limited Nixon-Smiley to just 63 total yards on the ground and 92 total yards in that game.
