Flatonia Sweeps Schulenburg

The Flatonia basketball teams swept Schulenburg in a varsity doubleheader Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Schulenburg 43-20 led by a 24-point night from Summer Sodek. The Lady Bulldogs finish the regular season with a 28-5 overall record and a 10-2 runner-up mark in district as they prepare for the playoffs.

Schulenburg ends its season with a 6-29 overall record and a 1-11 district record.

In the boys game Flatonia won 54-49. Keegan Green led Flatonia with 21 points and Duke Sodek added 16.

Byron Johnson led Schulenburg with 22 points and Jayse Janda had 13.

The Shorthorns are 8-3 in district play with Flatonia right behind at 7-3. Both teams have clinched playoff berths with one week left in the regular season.
