Flatonia Girls Win Their Home Tournament Title

The Flatonia girls basketball team won their second consecutive tournament title as they claimed the championship of their home tournament last week.

That comes on the heels of their Fayetteville tournament title the week before.

Thursday at the Flatonia tournament the Lady Bulldogs defeated Stockdale 63-25 and downed Giddings 57-29. Friday they beat Fayetteville 5726 and Smithville 54-46 and they downed Columbus on Saturday.

The Fayetteville girls lost all five games they played at the Flatonia tournament, falling to Giddings, Columbus, Flatonia, Stockdale and Smithville to fall to 4-10 overall.

On the boys side of the Flatonia tournament:

The Flatonia boys lost to Fayetteville 62-54 and beat Victoria 83-34 and then beat Davenport JV 57-37 Friday before falling to Port Aransas 59-42 in the nightcap. On Saturday the Rice boys beat Flatonia 72-50.

After beating Flatonia Thursday, the Fayetteville boys lost to Rice 79-69. Friday the Lions beat Victoria 75-21 but lost to Davenport JV 4439. Saturday Fayetteville lost to Port Aransas 57-36.
