Fayetteville’s Only Other Boys Basketball State Finalists

This week the Fayetteville boys basketball team is playing in the state basketball title game for only the second time in school history and for the first time since 1942. Shown here is a photo of the 1942 Lions, who were state runner-ups. That team included: Elbert Cassell, Joe Rek, Chester Cordes, Dennis Rudloff, Donald Gresser, Everett ‘Pete’ Treybig, Robert Mynar, Bernard Vasek and Melvin Wolff. The team was coached by Jesse Jochec.
