Fayetteville Sweeps Into Regional Finals
The Fayetteville baseball swept into the 1A regional finals with authority Wednesday as they beat Menard 8-3 and 19-0 in their playoff series in Lago Vista.
In the opener Lions pitcher Jack Schley hurled a masterpiece, striking out 12. Offensively in that game Fayetteville was led by Lawson Fritsch, who had three hits and two RBIs, and Kole Schmitt, who had two hits and three RBIs. Brody Dooley also scored two runs.
In the second game Keagan Supak and Chance Konvicka threw a combined no-hitter. Supak threw four of the innings, striking out eight, and Chance Konvicka struck out the side in the final inning.
Konvicka also had a big second game at the plate, with a three-hit night, including a three-run homer and five total RBIs.
Schley also drove in three runs.
The Lions now have a 14-4 overall record and advance to play the winner of the D’Hanis/Bruni series.
