Fayetteville Rolls to Win in Playoff Opener

The Fayetteville boys basketball team had no trouble winning its first round playoff game Monday in Columbus as they smashed Waelder 8228.

Kole Schmitt and Jack Schley led the way with 17 points each. Easton Jaeger scored 16. Mason Fenhaus scored 13.

Chance Konvicka scored six, Lawson Fritsch had five, Kasen Kocian had three. Enoch Loafman and Cole Jurecka each scored two and Jason Halfmann scored one.

The victory improved the No. 7-ranked Lions to 25-8 this season and they now advance to the second round where they will play vs. Lasara in Goliad at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
