Fayetteville Baseball Starts Strong
Just days after ending their basketball season in the state semifinals, Fayetteville began its baseball season with back-toback wins over Somerville last week.
In Wednesday’s 13-2 victory Chance Konvicka, Kole Schmitt and Jake Kubala combined on the pitching effort. Easton Jaeger had three hits and Keagan Supak had two. Lawson Fritsch drove in three runs.
Thursday Fayetteville beat Somerville 11-1. Jack Schley pitched three innings of scoreless ball and Jaeger hurled two hitless frames. Offensively Jaeger had two hits and three RBIs and Kubala hit a double.
• Flatonia softball lost to Ganado 17-0 Thursday. Kara Croyle, Emma Kosler and Sadie Noska had the only hits for the Lady Bulldogs, who fell to 2-3 in district with the loss.
• Schulenburg softball lost to Shiner Thursday 14-3. Kinley Tillery pitched a complete game for the Lady Horns and had two hits.
