See Brotherhood of the Traveling Cub cap.

As the RTC Volleyball Team headed to the State Semifinals Tuesday (this year is their 22nd appearance) in the hunt for what would have been the school’s 7th State Championship, there is a story that must be shared.

There has long been a sisterhood between the former and current volleyball players from Round Top-Carmine. This sisterhood dates back to the early 1990s when RTC first emerged as a powerhouse in local and state Volleyball. More recently though, has emerged a Brotherhood between the fathers of players. The

The Cub Cap was born in 2010 when Cubette Moms, Lisa Hibbeler (Mom of Marissa) and Audrey Sternadel (Mom of Amber) purchased and adorned the cap while attending the state volleyball tournament. It was proudly worn by Luke Sternadel during the 2010 State Championship, and again in 2012 and 2013 when RTC returned to the state tournament.

In 2015, Luke passed the cap to Dodd Lange (father of Adyson), who took the cap back to Garland Dodd passed it to Paul Kipp, (father of Hannah) to be worn at the 2016 State Championship.

In 2019, the cap was passed to Chad Tiemann (father of Cassidy) who proudly wore it to cheer on the State Finalist team. It has been in safekeeping until today, in which the Cap was passed to Clint Eilers (father of Jill and Tess) to be worn this week during the State Playoffs. Clint will pass the cap to a new member of the brotherhood in the future.
