Bulldog Baseball Wins Three

The Flatonia Bulldog baseball team opened up their 2025 season with three victories last week.

The Bulldogs first win came vs the Gonzales Apaches last Monday by a 14-2 score.

Tripp Bowling led Flatonia at the plate with two hits and three RBI’s. Udi Manzano, Henri Vincik, and Beck Zimmerman all had one hit apiece.

Kullen Kutac picked up the win on the mound.

This past weekend Flatonia went 2-1-1 at the Thrall Tournament.

In their first game on Thursday the Dogs tied the Thrall Tigers 0-0 over seven innings.

Bowling had Flatonia’s only hit vs. Thrall. Titan Targac and Kutac both pitched exceptionally well vs. the Tigers.

The second game on Thursday the Dogs picked up a 16-1 win over Holland.

Players getting two hits apiece included: Caysen Perez, Zimmerman, Vincik, and Bowling. Vincik had three RBI’s and C. Perez had two. Targac, C. Perez, and Vincik all hit doubles.

Blake Kessler earned the win on the bump.

On Saturday, the Dogs lost to Silsbee in their first game 5-2.

Targac had two hits and one RBI vs. Silsbee.

Game two on Saturday had Flatonia winning 13-2 over Jarrell.

Targac led the offense with two triples and three RBI’s. Kessler and Bowling both also had two hits.

Also getting hits included: Zayden Perez, Zimmerman, Vincik, and Caysen Perez.

Kessler picked up his second win of the week on the mound.

The Bulldogs will host the Mike Schulze Memorial Baseball Classic over next weekend March 6-8. The tournament game schedule is located below.

Flatonia will have their home district opener over Spring Break next Tuesday, March 11 vs. the Bloomington Bobcats at a time TBD.
