The No. 4-ranked Fayetteville boys basketball team defeated La Grange 73-53 Saturday in the season opener for both teams.

No individual stats were available at press time. The La Grange boys play at Round Top-Carmine Tuesday.

The La Grange girls basketball team (1-0) plays at Shiner Tuesday.

The Flatonia girls basketball team opened the season last week against Industrial winning 51-31.
