Shorthorns Improve to 18-3
The Schulenburg baseball team improved to 18-3 overall and 8-0 in district with an 11-0 win over Weimar Tuesday.
Ian Reeves pitched a complete game one-hitter with five strikeouts and he also homered, had three hits and four RBIs. Emerson Harvey had three hits for Schulenburg. Jayse Janda and Van Prihoda each had two hits, including doubles. Braden Mueller had the only hit for Weimar.
Lady Horns Fall
The Schulenburg softball team lost to Weimar 20-6 Tuesday. Alazay Moreno pitched a complete game six-hitter for Weimar. Aubryn Janda homered for Schulenburg, which fell to 5-10 overall with the loss. Schulenburg’s Kerr Mc-Bride doubled and Kinley Tillery each had two hits. Taitlyn Mican, Sam Rangel and Zariah Sims all had three hits each for Weimar.
Cubs Lose to Iola
The Round Top-Carmine baseball team lost a doubleheader to Iola Tuesday 8-0 and 15-0. Will Neese had the only hit for the Cubs in the 8-0 loss. In the 15-0 loss, Will Neese, Carter Marburger, Miles Neese and Facundo Cerda all had hits for the Cubs.
Lady Dogs Sweep
The Flatonia softball team beat Moulton in a doubleheader Tuesday 6-0 and 19-9. Jalee Trussell pitched a complete game shutout in the first game and also had two hits herself.
In the 19-9 win, Trussell homered and had six RBIs, Presley Cliffe pitched four innings and tripled, and Brynlee Zimmerman had four hits.
