LG Middle School Students Make the All-Region Band

On Saturday, Dec. 2, 69 students from the La Grange Middle School Band traveled to Smithville High School to audition for a spot in the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) Region 18/26 All-Region Bands. 29 students earned spots in the bands, with another 4 being named as first alternate - more than any other middle school band program in the Region.

LCRA Donates $25,000 for Playground Shade Structure in LG

The La Grange Lions Foundation will install a shade structure at the playground at Kruschel Memorial Park, thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of La Grange. The Community Development Partnership Program grant, along with $8,250 in matching funds from the foundation, will add a second protective covering at the park on the west side of La Grange.

ARTS Holiday Show Opens Saturday

Arts for Rural Texas recognizes the artistic vision and ingenuity of creative people from around the region. Every year, ARTS opens its doors to celebrate the talents of the surrounding communities. The nonprofit’s annual Holiday Show provides an opportunity for creatives to showcase their work at ARTS’ Ross Gallery and promises to be filled with originality and expression.
