Abbey Kay Weyand of La Grange graduated from Texas A&M University School of Engineering in College Station on May 12. Her major is in Interdisciplinary Engineering with double minors in Computer Science and Cyber Security. Abbey is a 2019 graduate from La Grange High School and while at Texas A&M was a member of Mu Alpha Theta honor society, member of FLASH (Freshman Leaders advancing through Service and Honor), Treasurer and member of MORPH (Molding Ourselves & Reaching People’s Hearts, Co-Founder and member of IDEA (Interdisciplinary Engineering Association), and a Co-hort II recruited member of the DCLCP (A Department of Defense and Texas A&M University Defense Cyber-Leader Development Program). Abbey completed an internship at Dreamport for the Department of Defense last summer in Columbia, Maryland and will begin her fulltime position in Houston, as a Cyber Consultant in June of this year. She is the daughter of David and Sandra Weyand and granddaughter of Doris and the late Lambert Lidiak all of La Grange and April and Harley Weyand of New Braunfels.
