Wendish Heritage Society Fish Fry March 16

The Texas Wendish Heritage Society will be hosting their annual Fish Fry Fundraiser on Sunday, March 16 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. The meal will consist of fried fish, potato salad, beans, coleslaw and hush puppies. Cost is $15 per plate. Reservations will be taken by calling (979) 3662441 or email museum@texaswendish. org.

Show Fund Fundraiser The Warda Bunch Show Fund, supporters of the Lee County Junior Livestock Show Exhibitors, will have a BBQ Pork Fundraiser on Saturday, April 5. BBQ pork butts will be sold by the piece. Each piece will be approx. 2.5-4 lbs. for $12 a lb. Cups of sauce are $3 each. Orders for the piece (not pound), can be placed by calling the church office at (979) 242-3333 by March 26. Proceeds go toward continued support of the Livestock Show Exhibitors.

Seminary Choir Tour 

Concordia Seminary Choir Tour will present Laudamus 2025 Tour, “My Song is Love Unknown” at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19 at St. Paul Lutheran Serbin. Laudamus is a select choir of seminarians from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis who are preparing for full time pastoral ministry. Everyone is invited to attend Knox Memorial Scholarship Applications are now being accepted for an academicbased scholarship from the Amanda (Zoch) Knox Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund will pay for the full tuition for an incoming 9th grade student of Faith Lutheran High School beginning in the Fall of 2025. Applications are due May 1, 2025 and are available from FLHS or from Cyndy Zoch at cyndy.zoch@gmail.com.

Sewing Circle 

The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda. (this is around the back side of the church). No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Contact the church office at (979) 2423333 if you have any questions. Game Day at Holy Cross

The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday, March 20 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.

Sympathy Extended 

Sympathy to the family and friends of Eugene Zoch who passed away Feb. 25, his funeral was held at Holy Cross on Feb. 28.

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

The Wednesday Morning Bible Study Group meets at 11:30 a.m. They are studying the book of Galatians.

The Post Oak Zone Rally will be held at Holy Cross Followship Hall on Sunday, March 31, beginning at 1:30 p.m. and hosted by the ladies of Mount Calvery. Speaker will be Rev. Ryan Neuhaus, CEO of Camp Lone Star.

Scholarships are available for every family that desires to have their child attend FLHS. Tuition funds are available by applying through TADS, and everyone that applies will receive some assistance. Contact the school for more information.
