Wendish Heritage Society Accepting Scholarship Applications

The Texas Wendish Heritage Society Scholarship Program is now open. This scholarship program is available to students of Wendish heritage.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school for the Fall 2024 semester. Applications are available online at texaswendish.org and must be submitted digitally by 5 p.m. Friday July 12.

St. Paul Spring Musical The students at St. Paul Serbin will present their Spring Musical “Discovery at Camp Wise-n-Up” on Sunday, May 19 following the 4 p.m. Graduation Service. This is a musical adventure of Proverbs. All students grades K-8 are involved in this musical.

Vacation Bible Schools Here are two of the vacation Bible schools scheduled for this area: Holy Cross in Warda: June 17-19 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. each evening. A light meal will be provided at 5:30 p.m. Register at: www.holycrosswarda. com.

Bike Riding Trails 

Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda has bike riding trails that are open every day from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. They also offer primitive camping spots. May 18-19 is the Warda Race. Thriving Tejas Celebration 

Tejas Camp and Retreat Center will have a Thriving Tejas Celebration on Saturday May 11. This will include a scavenger hunt, lunch, ice cream sundae bar as well as tours and recreational activities. Please RSVP on their website. They will also be hosting their Memorial Day Weekend Getaway May 2427. This an opportunity to enjoy private lodging, family activities and more. Scholarship Fund 

The Amanda Knox Memorial Scholarship Fund is holding two Spring raffles. The first is for an Ultimate Hill Country Experience for two people. Tickets for this raffle are limited and will sell for $100 each. One winner will be drawn. The second drawing will include 12 items for 12 winners. These tickets will sell for $20 each. Tickets for both raffles are on sale now, with drawings held in May and June. All monies raised will go toward a full scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman at Faith Lutheran High School. Tickets can be purchased from the Holy Cross Lutheran Church office.

Game Day at Holy Cross The next Game Day at Holy Cross will be held Thursday May 16 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo, dominoes and board games are offered.

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Faith Lutheran High School Faith Lutheran High School graduation will be held Saturday May 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
