Here is a chance to join in and have support with weight loss, eating right, maybe just some accountability.
The group will offer ideas for good eating habits, sharing recipes and a weigh in (for your information only.) For more information contact Karen Jacobs at (281) 682-5625 or watch the Muldoon Happenings Facebook page for updates.
Happy NewYear
Happy New Year. 2023 arrived in Muldoon with lots of fireworks being set off all over the community. Those with animals who are spooked by loud noises had a restless night.
Hogs
Once again the hogs have invaded the Muldoon area. They are a persistent problem. Several have been hit on FM 2237 and on FM 154. Not only have the hogs been hit, but also a buzzard was hit feasting on the dead hog. These animals are hazardous to travel in the area. They can cause costly repairs when hit or even injury in the accident. Traffic has not only increased due to more people moving out in the area, railroad bridge replacements/ upgrades and construction people on the move, but these animals crossing the roads makes travel in the area more hazardous.
Out and About
Dana and Darrell Kulak enjoyed having their son and his wife, Elton and Miko Kulak come in from the Fort Worth area to spend some time with them over the NewYear holiday.
Jennifer and Clay Rightmer were thrilled to have their daughter Lane Rightmer spend a few extra days with them following the Christmas holiday. Lane eventually had to return to Waco to go back to work. Jennifer and Clay’s son, Reed Rightmer also got to spend a few days in the country in between semesters at the University of Houston.
Martin and Nancie Cherry have been enjoying their daughter, Anne Marie Cherry who drove in from Columbus, Georgia. Anne Marie is a professor of horn at Columbus University.
I got to spend a few hours on New Year’s Eve with my grandson, Ira Ivy in Austin while his mom, Jenny Claire worked. It was nice to get to spoil him.
Weather
Muldoon has seen some rain in the New Year. The temperatures have held nicely for January with highs in the seventies and lows in the forties.
Neighborhood Watch
Please get to know your neighbors and watch out for each other. It takes the whole community pulling together to make Muldoon safe. Make sure to check on your elderly neighbors who might be under the weather and need a little help.
There has been some illness going around in the area and sometimes people just need to know someone cares. Be that person who cares.
