Wear Red Campaign is Friday

La Grange Mayor Jan Dockery reminds everyone that Friday, Feb. 2, is National Wear Red Day. The day is an effort by the American Heart Association to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease in women.

“It’s near and dear to me because my mom died from a massive heart attack 20 years ago,” Dockery said. Dockery said the Wear Red campaign is popular in many areas of the country but relatively unknown in La Grange.

“It’s something I wanted to bring up in our local community, to raise awareness about heart disease,” Dockery said.
