Warda Battery Storage Project Meeting Set

Public Hearing Scheduled The public hearing in commissioners court regarding the Staccato Battery Storage Project in Warda is Aug. 22 at 9 a.m. in room 303 of the courthouse.

South Lee County VFD South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department will hold their 43rd Annual BBQ and Auction on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Serbin Picnic Grounds. BBQ by the pound will be available starting at 4:30 p.m. BBQ plates with all the trimmings will be available starting at 5 p.m. Free-will donation for meal plates, desserts and drinks. Music by the Lost Cause Band will play from 3:30-6 p.m. The live auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come enjoy the evening and show your support for the wonderful VFD.

Wednesday Night Bible Study The Wednesday Night Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda will begin onAug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the family room. This will be a study on 1st and 2nd Kings. The 12-week class will follow King Solomon’s reign and fall, and the captivity of both Israel and Judah. There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Holy Cross Lutheran Church Picnic 

The annual Holy Cross Lutheran Church picnic will be held Sunday, Sept. 1 at the picnic grounds. Make plans to attend this fun day. More details coming soon.

Camp Lone Star Picnic Camp Lone Star in La-Grange will have their annual picnic on Sunday, July 28. The day will start with special music at 10:30 a.m. An outdoor worship service at 11 a.m. with the installation of Rev. Ryan Neuhaus as the new CEO, a BBQ meal at noon and the benefit auction from 1-3 p.m. are just some of the activities planned for the day. The swimming pool will also be open from 1-2:30 p.m. for those wanting to enjoy the cool water. Each year Camp Lone Star serves over 11,000 individuals through retreats, outdoor education and of course their summer camp ministry. This is a great event and a wonderful opportunity to show support for the camp and help it continue the ministry into the future.

Community Baseball 

Sunday, July 28 Serbin will play Weimar at Serbin. The game is at 3 p.m.

Game Day at Holy Cross The next Game Day at Holy Cross will be held Thursday, Aug. 15 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered. Sympathy Extended

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Blessing of the Backpacks will be held Sunday, Aug. 11.

Sunday School Promotion Sunday will be held Aug. 25.

The midweek morning Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda will resume on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 10:30 a.m.
