Waldeck Church Picnic Slated May 18
Waldeck Lutheran Church will sponsor their annual picnic on Sunday, May 18 with a day of fun, food, and fellowship. A chicken fried steak meal with buttered potatoes, green beans, and gravy will be served from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
There will be a country store, face painting, homemade ice cream, and cake walk. A live drawing is at 12:30 p.m.

Decoration Service
The Carmine Cemetery Association will hold its annual Decoration Service on Sunday, May 18 at 2 p.m. at the cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Craig Cook Fundraiser A fundraiser is being held for Craig Cook for his major medical expenses and recovery due to cancer.
Donations may be made to the Craig Cook Medical Expense Fund at Carmine State Bank. The donations may be made in person or by mailing a check to Carmine State Bank, P.O. Box 341, Carmine, TX 78932.

Round Top-Carmine High school baseball team was to have set its playoff games last week.
May 12 is a student holiday and staff development day.
The girls’ and boys’ district 29A tennis competitions were held on April 21. Results are as follows: boys’ doubles, Evan Blazek and Carter Marburger, first, and William Neese and Miles Neese, third; singles, William Keng, second; girls’ doubles, Jaylen Bage and Alin Soto, first, and Brooklyn Gold and Hayden Kasmiersky, second; singles, Kinsley Bage second; mixed doubles, Facundo Cera and Bree Dooley, first, and Kash Wessels and Jessica Rohde, second.
First and second places advance to regionals in May.
In April, several groups were recognized for their service. They include: Devin Bellue, Graciela Blazek, Sidnie nie Mi- Byrket, Bayley Gold, Michelle Osgood, Karina Soto, and Erin Willard as paraprofessionals; Blake Goehring, Harvey Albers, Randy Beck, and Tiffani Brooks as bus drivers; Nicole Bage as librarian; and Tania Hardaway, Ashley Jasek, Audrey Sternadel, and Gwen Stork as administrative assistants.
Bingo Ledbetter Hall
Since Mother’s Day is the second Sunday in May, Bingo at the Ledbetter Hall will be on the third Sunday, May 18. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. and play is from 2-4 p.m. Cost is $5 which covers all games with prizes awarded for each game.
Chips, snacks, and drinks are available for a donation. This is a non-profit community event for entertainment.
Bingo Carmine Hall
The next Bingo at the Carmine Hall is on Friday, May 23. Doors open at 4 p.m. and games begin at 6 p.m. Twelve regular games and two cover games are played. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Carmine VFD
The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department meets May 8 for the regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m.

Senior Citizens meal pick-up and domino party is Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship with Holy Communion observing the Fourth Sunday of Easter and Confirmation is Sunday at 10 a.m. Mother’s Day will also be observed. The Noisy Offering will be received for Lutherhill Ministries.
Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.
Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.
