VFW, Auxiliary Sponsors Christmas in July

VFW Auxiliary No. 5254 of La Grange sponsored a Christmas in July social for the residents at Jefferson Place Assisted Living, which honored Veterans and Veterans’ spouses. This was held on Friday, July 14, at 2 p.m. The social began with honoring the three Veterans by presenting each of them with a framed “flag poem” that included an actual star from a retired flag and was personalized with their name and branch of service. As the three Veterans and the seventeen Veterans spouses were recognized, each was presented a Christmas gift bag. Then all the residents enjoyed root beer floats.
