The Fall Antique and Design show is getting closer. Remember, some vendors are opening as early as Thursday, Oct. 12. The show will run through the end of the month. With the start of the show there will be a lot of pop-up events.

Live and Local

The Stone Cellar has Midnight Wrangler Friday from 7-10 p.m., and David Grace Saturday from 7-11 p.m.

Busted Oaks Cellars has Josh Tiemann Saturday from 4-7 p.m., and Jack Carr Sunday 2-5 p.m.

Round Top Brewery has Rob Moorman from 6-9 p.m. and on Sunday you can catch Victor Bustos from 4-6 p.m.

The Stone Cellar has several great acts scheduled for the Antique Show including Cory Morrow on Oct. 13, Gary P. Nunn on Oct. 21, Jack Ingram on Oct. 27 and much more. These concerts take place at The Dance Hall and will require tickets. You may purchase yours ahead of time by visiting thestonecellartx. com.

Round Top-Carmine ISD The Book Fair was a huge success! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped and for the community for their support.

The elementary students have a big week ahead. The 4th grade will have Ag Day on Tuesday, Oct. 3. The students will experience “Opera to Go” at Festival Hill on Wednesday, Oct. 4. Students have a school holiday on Monday, Oct. 9. The next school board meeting will be Oct. 16.

Round Top Family Library Junior Master Gardeners for fourth through sixth grades, art class for grades second through twelfth grades, jazz dance for grades kindergarten through sixth grades, chess club for ages 7 and up, and Taekwondo for ages 7 and up are all free classes offered during the week. Contact the library for more information and to register.

Sunday, October 8, it’s an “Author, Author!” Book Fair. This event will feature local cal authors including Audrey Wick, Jason Stone, Fr. Bill Miller and more. The Fair runs 1-5 p.m.

The next Family Game Day is Saturday, Oct. 14, from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 is a Wine Makers Class beginning at 10 a.m. and Sign Language Class beginning at 10:30 a.m. Register by contacting the library.

Round Top C of C

The monthly Chamber of Commerce meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 5, from 5-7 p.m. at Texas Casual Cottages located at 580 S. Hwy 237.

Town Council

The first two Town Hall meetings were so successful that there will not be an Oct. 4 meeting. The next Town Hall meeting on the Strategic Plan will not be until after the first of the year. There was terrific participation in not only the Town survey but also in attendance and speaking at the two Town Hall meetings.

The Round Top Town Council meetings are held the second Monday of the month at the Town Hall located at 100 Main Street unless otherwise posted. Citizens are encouraged and welcome to attend. Agendas are posted on the website at www.townofroundtop. org at least 72 hours prior to the meeting time.

Round Top Rifle Hall

Monday Night Hamburger Social takes place the first, second and third Mondays each month starting at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Church News

St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar. Please note there is no Mass scheduled for October. View the bulletin online at stjohnfayetteville. com for more information.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Pastor John David leads adult bible study the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.

The WELCA Western Fall Gathering is tentatively set for October 21 at United Evangelical Lutheran Church at Swiss Alp.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee, and Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Game Day is held the first Wednesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m.

St. Cecilia’s Round Top Episcopal Church holds services with Father Bill Miller Sundays at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. in the historic Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square. The Saint Cecilia’s Sisterhood Study Group meets from 1011:15 a.m. For more information, please visit the website at www.StCecilias.org.
