Lots and lots of vendors filled our tiny square for the flourishing Farmer’s Market last Saturday. Lisa Gerik and Linda Wischnewsky sold produce and canned goods. Taylor Simmons offered artwork and beautiful veggie boxes. Morgan Zator brought in castor oil, magnesium and all kinds of items truly good for the body. Blacklands Ranch sold organic baked goods and herbs and produce grown without chemical pesticides. Robin Zapalac and her daughter Jaycee were selling their gluten-free cakes and cookies. Sydni Alberthal sold her outstanding cinnamon rolls, sourdough bread and more. Sincere apologies for leaving anyone out.

Please note that there is a change of plans for the Farmer’s Market for next month only. The City-wide Garage Sale is happening the second Saturday of July so mark your calendar for the third Saturday, July 20. After that, it will return to the second Saturday per month.

Trip to Europe

Jim Sula recently returned from a whirlwind trip in Europe with his son Michael and daughter-in-law, Helene. As travel bloggers, the kids kicked off the carefully planned tour in London with a view of Big Ben. The trio then toured the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey. “The actual floor of the abbey features names of over 3,000 celebrated Britons that have been buried there. We stayed to attend the Evensong service, a church service that’s traditionally held every day as the sun goes down. A wonderful choir sang and the whole experience was really amazing. The service marks the passing of another day in faith,” stated Sula.

The Tube and the train then transported the family to historic Oxford, known as the City of Spires, where his son and daughter-in-law reside. They visited All Sols College, which only accepts eight students per year and toured the Cotswolds, designated as an “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.” A high-speed train carried them beneath the English Channel and onto Paris. More on the trip in the next column.
