Two Weekends Left for Lane of Lights

The Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights continues for the next two weekends, Dec. 13-14; and Dec. 20-21.

Come take part in the family event for all ages with a hayride through a lighted path of Christmas reflections from 6-8:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person, cash or check only. Children two years and under are free. Live musical entertainment and Santa will be there each night for your enjoyment.

Tickets are available near the intersection of FM 1291 and Hwy 290.

All proceeds benefit the Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department.

RT-C School News 

The Round Top-Carmine varsity girls’ basketball team hosts Fayetteville at 5 p.m. on Dec. 10; while the varsity boys play at Sacred Heart in Hallettsville the same night with the time to be determined. Varsity boys will participate in the Snook tournament Dec. 12 - 14. Girls and boys play at Calvert on Dec. 17.

Looking ahead, classes will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 for the Christmas/ Winter break. Teachers have a workday on Jan. 7 and Jan. 8 is a professional development day. Students return for classes on Jan. 9, 2025.

Blood Drive Successful The Blood Drive at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on Nov. 24 was a great success. There were twelve donors and four gave doubles. This resulted in a credit of 16 units.

All the donors and workers are appreciated for helping with the Gift of Life.

Burn Ban 

A burn ban remains in effect for Fayette County.

MLLC News 

Advent meal is Wednesday at 6 p.m. It will be served by members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top. Worship service begins at 7 p.m. St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby provided the meal on Dec. 4.

Rebekah Group meets Thursday at noon in the Fellowship Hall. AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion, observing the Third Sunday in Advent, is at 6 p.m.

Sunday Worship with Holy Communion is at 10 a.m. The Noisy Offering will be collected for the Cajun Navy.

The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.

Meals on Wheels 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.
