Teagan Kallus Shines at 4-H State Horse Show
Fayette County’s Teagan Kallus shined at the Texas State 4-H Horse show in Bryan July 23-28. She showed her American Paint Horse Gelding “A Timely Invitation.” This was her last year in the junior-intermediate division, their placing were as follows:
• Halter geldings 5 & over -1st place and Grand Champion Gelding, Highest placing APHA halter horse. Judged western division; Showmanship- Reserve Champion, Western Pleasure-3rd place, Western Horsemanship-4th place, Western Trail-6th place, They were Reserve Champion judged Western horse and Highest placing APHA horse.
• In English Hunter Flat Division; Hunter Showmanship- 3rd place, Hunter Under Saddle-3rd place, Hunt Seat Equitation-3rd place, Hunt Seat Versatility (Trail)10th place, They were Reserve Champion Hunter-Flat Horseman and highest placing APHA horse. This was her first year to show a yearling futurity project. Her yearling came from Hermann and Gwenda Rose of Pettus.
She is also an American Paint Horse “HR Gwendas Susie” She placed 1st in the yearling halter filly futurity and highest placing APHA horse. She then showed in yearling longe line placing 7th, yearling showmanship placing 4th, and they won the yearling in-hand trail 1st place. For the yearling futurity they ended up 4th overall, Teagan is an active member of the Fayette 4-H Horse Project Club, the club’s Sec/ Treasurer and Council Delegate, She is also a National Director representing Texas in the American Junior Paint Horse Association. She is a freshman attending Texas Connections Academy.
Teagan is the daughter of Russell and Tina Kallus, and the granddaughter of Ronnie and Carolyn Kallus of Flatonia, Curtis and Sarah Kollatschny of Chappell, Ky, and Frankie Srubar and the late Linda Srubar of Round Top.
