Taekwondo Classes Offered at Round Top Family Library

Junior Master Gardeners for fourth through sixth grades, art class for grades second through twelfth grades, jazz dance for grades kindergarten through sixth grades, chess club for ages 7 and up, and Taekwondo for ages 7 and up are all free classes offered during the week. Contact the library for more information and to register.

The next sign language class is Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Free class but registration is required.

Sunday, Oct. 8 it’s an “Author, Author!” Book Fair. This event will feature local authors including Audrey Wick, Jason Stone, Fr. Bill Miller and more. The Fair runs 1-5 p.m.

The Stone Cellar has Bubba Westly Friday, Sept. 22 from 7-10 p.m., and Zack Walther Band Saturday from 7-9 p.m.

Busted Oaks Cellars has Darrel Appelt Saturday from 4-7 p.m., and Round Top Brewery has Kerosene Pipedream from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, catch Reagan Quinn at the Brewery from 12:30-2:30 p.m.

The Stone Cellar has several great acts scheduled for the Antique Show including Cory Morrow on Oct. 13, Gary P. Nunn on Oct. 21, Jack Ingram on Oct. 27 and much more. These concerts take place at The Dance Hall and will require tickets. You may purchase yours ahead of time by visiting thestonecellartx. com.

Round Top-Carmine ISD The Texas A&M School of Nursing and their Mobile Health Unit will be on the Round Top-Carmine campuses every Wednesday during the school year. All students, staff, and community members are eligible to be seen. Appointments can be made by calling (979) 436-0587.

Students have an early release Friday, Sept. 22, and a school holiday Monday, Oct. 9.

Town Council

The third Town Hall Meeting to develop a Strategic Plan for the Town of Round Top will be Oct. 4. If you have an idea of the direction the town should go, submit a written statement of your ideas to the Town Clerk at the town Office. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the Round Top Rifle Hall.

The Round Top Town Council meetings are held the second Monday of the month at the Town Hall located at 100 Main Street unless otherwise posted. Citizens are encouraged and welcome to attend. Agendas are posted on the website at www.townofroundtop. org at least 72 hours prior to the meeting time.

Church News

St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar. This month’s mass was Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 8 a.m. View the bulletin online at stjohnfayetteville. com for more information.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Pastor John David leads adult Bible study the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.

The WELCA Western Fall Gathering is tentatively set for Oct. 21 at United Evangelical Lutheran Church at SwissAlp.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee, and Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Game Day is held the first Wednesday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m.

The annual church service in the historical church across the road will be Sept. 24 at 8 a.m., followed by the church picnic in the education building.
