Swing Into RT Dance Event to Benefit Local Communities & Historic Preservation Efforts

Texas Dance Hall Preservation, Inc. (TDHP) is excited to announce its upcoming Swing Into Round Top swing dance on June 24. The event, featuring live music from the Texas Country Music Award’s 2022 “Western Swing Band of the Year,” The Broken Spokes, will be held at the Round Top Dance Hall and is expected to attract around 350 people from across the state.

Swing Into Round Top is not only a fun-filled evening of dancing for all ages, but also a way to support Round Top and the surrounding communities. Revenue from the event will go towards TDHP’s mission of preserving historic dance halls in Texas and supporting the local economy.

“Swing Into Round Top is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy live music, dancing, and good company,” said Stephen Ray, TDHP President. “But more importantly, it’s a chance to support the preservation of historic dance halls in Texas, which are an important part of our cultural heritage.”

The Broken Spokes are a well-known band that has been performing for over a decade. Their high-energy music is perfect for swing dancing, and they have a loyal following of fans across Texas.

“We are thrilled to have The Broken Spokes as the featured band for this event,” said Bethany Wolf, TDHP Executive Director. “Their music is infectious and will keep everyone on their feet all night long.”

Swing Into Round Top is also an opportunity to showcase the Round Top Dance Hall, a historic dance hall built in 1907. The hall has been restored and is now used for community events, including dances, weddings, and other gatherings.

“We are excited to host this event at the Round Top Dance Hall,” said Wolf.

Tickets for Swing Into Round Top are available now and can be purchased through TDHP’s website. The event is open to all ages, and no prior dance experience is necessary.
