Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Planning Easter Celebration
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church has been very alive, active and growing. They have had the parking lot and the church full on Sunday with worship services at 10 a.m. and on Wednesday nights with the youth ROPE gathering. If you are looking for a church to attend in the area, this is a great and welcoming place with Biblical gospel preached. Stop by on a Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. for some doughnuts, coffee and fellowship before the 10 a.m. worship or any area youth (ages 13-18) is invited to come on Wednesday nights to check out all the fun, learning and good Christian fellowship that starts at 6 p.m. with a meal.
SG2C has already started making plans for the upcoming Easter celebration and are planning a Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. So get up early and start your Easter off right. Bring the family to celebrate and enjoy the reason for this wonderful day. They are even planning to serve breakfast afterward in the pavilion. I am sure a chuck wagon is involved (come find out.) Then at 10 a.m. an Easter morning worship service will be lead by Pastor Butch. There will be an Easter egg hunt following the service and everyone is invited outside for a big Easter Egg Hunt extravaganza. This hunt will include everyone, both young and old, will be invited to come out and hunt for some eggs. Make plans now, it will be here before you know it. Come join in if you are looking for a place to go on Easter. This is a church that welcomes the entire community to come out and learn about the word of God straight from the Bible and wants to embrace the Muldoon community. Come find out what all the fuss is about. Just come and be loved on by this active church who wants to share the love of Christ with the community.
Also as you look at your calendars mark down Saturday, April 27 to attend the SG2C Spring Round Up. From what is being laid out now there will be lots of kid actives with a “Kids’ Zone” with lots of fun games for the little ones. There will be food too with hamburgers being grilled. Some of the fun games planned are a “Dummy Roping” with belt buckles as prizes and a “Corn Hole” tournament. They plan to have some vendors there for some shopping fun, so if you would like a stall or space to sell some of your things, booths will be available for $25 a spot. This will be a fun event for the whole family, so make plans for a big family day. For more information about what is happening, wish to donate items, or to volunteer contact either Dave Derrick at (281) 788-8648 or Antoinette Joplin at (979) 561-6973.
50th Anniversary
Ted and Nada Burns recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. This is an exciting thing in today’s times. They were joined by their son and his wife Ryan and Meghan Burns along with their kids Mike, Olivia, Luke and Chase from Waxahachie. They had a nice family celebration that included Nada’s brother John Schwartzenburg and his wife Debra.
Out and About
Kathy and Frank Chlumsky were thrilled to have their grandkids; Olivia and Marcus, along with their mom Summer come out to visit on Sunday. Both kids got to “drive” the side by side in the pasture and visit with the donkeys. They also enjoyed shoveling dirt and rocks into the wheel barrows, so they could create flower beds and a fire pit. Olivia and Marcus of course enjoyed their favorite lunch of Mac and cheese (Grandma Kathy would never disappoint.)
Clay Rightmer traveled to Waco where he met up with his daughter Lane Rightmer for some father/daughter time and to attend a Baylor basketball game together. It was a quick trip, but a good one.
Dana and Darrell Kulak took off for the long weekend to go up to the Dallas/Fort Worth area for some much wanted grandbaby time. They went up and visited their son and daughter in law, Elton and Miko Kulak, and grandson Henry.
Muldoon VFD
Another event to mark your calendars for is the Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department annual fundraiser and open house on Saturday, April 20. They are planning on opening the doors at 10 a.m. with a meal of hamburgers and hot dogs with chips, water and tea. If you come, bring along your favorite side dish and/ or dessert to share with the hamburgers. They will hold a silent auction and would love to have some wonderful items donated for this auction followed by a live auction. So start making your spring plans now to attend.
