Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Hosting Spring Round Up Saturday

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is hosting a fun day of Spring Time Round Up fun and games. Everyone is invited out to see what the SG2C is up to on Saturday April 27. There will be games, a cake walk, a fun corn hole contest, food, a kids’ corner, dummy roping (with a buckle to the winner) and a whole lot more in the works.

Come out and bring the family. The fun starts at 11 a.m. and will last till 4 p.m. It will be a great way to spend a Saturday and an even better way to get to know the folks at this fast growing little Cowboy Church.

Pitman Cemetery Memorial It is that time of year again for the annual Pitman Cemetery Association Memorial Service. On Sunday, May 5, at 2:30 p.m. everyone with friends and relatives buried in this historic cemetery will gather at the chapel to honor those who have passed before us. This annual event draws those from around the state and sometimes out of state to come and pay respect to those family and friends who are laid to rest in Pitman. This gathering has been going on for years and is the chance for many to see others they only see at this time.

Out and About

John and Debra Schwartzenburg enjoyed a visit from their daughter and son in law, Michelle and Tommy Mitchell and the grandchildren Addie and Oliver. The Mitchells came in from Colorado to spend some time in Texas with family. They took the opportunity to drive to Waco where they watched the eclipse with family there with sunny skies and a clear view of the whole thing.

Nancie and Billy Blair enjoyed having their grandson, Kelley Schick out to the country for his 30th birthday. They cooked some brisket and sausages on the barbecue and were able to enjoy outside since the weather was so nice. They also took advantage of the lovely weather to set up their outdoor movie screen and watched some movies in the pleasant temperatures.

Kathy Chlumsky traveled to Austin to spend some time with grandson Marcus. His sister, Olivia and mom had a mother/daughter scout weekend and their dad had a race to officiate. Kathy got to really enjoy some one on one time with Marcus. They got to play lots of games, enjoy a movie and even got to go to the train park one afternoon.

Darrell and Dana Kulak went on a quick trip to Boling to attend a baby shower for a niece who is expecting. They had a chance to see lots of family and old friends while down there.

Darling Passes

Marie Blackwell Darling passed away on April 9 at the age of 99 years old. She was born and raised in the Muldoon area and was very active in many organizations in the area. She was laid to rest in Pitman Cemetery where she was an active member of the association for many years.

Road Hazards

Once again is seems there has been a rash of animals hit on the roads in the Muldoon area. This, in turn, brings the buzzards out to clean up and cause more issues. Be careful as you are driving through the area. Be aware of hogs and deer that are crossing the roads. With the tall grass in the roadsides at the present time, it can be hard to see the animals that are on the side, especially at night and it can be very difficult to avoid hitting them when they dash out into your headlights.
