Out and About
Local Bobby Ivy was dispatched with the Texas Forest Service with a dozer crew to the panhandle Feb. 27 and was assigned to the Smokehouse Creek Fire, the largest wildfire in Texas history. He and his crew were assigned on the north heel of the fire. They saw huge amounts of burned pastures and Billy and Nancie Blair recently enjoyed a wonderful visit with their greatgrandson Cason Blaha and his dad Tyler. Cason and his dog enjoyed riding his four wheeler; all around the property while Tyler helped with some of the spring clean up around the place. Then they all enjoyed relaxing on the deck before they headed home for Katy.
Reed Rightmer came home for a few days over spring break to visit with his parents, Jennifer and Clay Rightmer. He got to relax and help out around the place before heading back to Houston.
Upcoming Events
April is looking to be a busy month in the area. Mark your calendars now for Saturday April 20 for the Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department Fundraiser and Open House. They will be hosting the Texas Forest Service and Smokey Bear along with having their equipment and trucks on display. They will have both a live and silent auction and would love to have some donations for that. They will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs and invite everyone to bring a side dish and/or dessert to share.
Then the next Saturday, April 27 the Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is planning their annual Spring Round Up. There will be games and all sorts of fun activities to keep everyone busy. Winners will have the chance to win buckles too! Some of the fun games planned are a “Dummy Roping” with belt buckles as prizes and a “Corn Hole” tournament. There are plans to have vendors, too.
